The North Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) has announced the recipient of its 2008 Student Scholarship as Leif Sande from Grand Marais, MN. Sande is a Civil Engineering major at North Dakota State University who plans on pursuing a career in the water industry.

The $500 Student Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior currently enrolled at one of the four-year institutions of higher education within the State of North Dakota and pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering or one of the physical or biological sciences. Award of the scholarship is based on academic record, water industry ambitions, extracurricular ambitions, and the applicant’s resume.

The North Dakota Section of the AWWA is an organization of water professionals dedicated to improving the quality and supply of water in North Dakota. The mission of the AWWA is to advance public health, safety, and welfare by uniting the efforts of the full spectrum of the entire water community.
